Features and Portability

The NIXY Ventus iSUP electric pump has everything that you need to get your paddle board inflated quickly. It comes with a long 10ft. power cord that plugs into your car and gives you the space that you need to inflate your SUP (it’s a really thoughtful design feature making the cable so long).

And then there are 7 different adaptors that you allow you to inflate a whole bunch of different boats and other inflatables. This pump can inflate any iSUP and most other inflatable boats.

💡This is the pump adapter that you will want to use when inflating your SUP.

It comes with a minimalistic and simple LCD screen that has large text that is easy to read when setting it up in the sun. It has four buttons that let you shift between PSI and Bar display settings, adjust the inflation pressure up and down, and a power button that starts and stops the pump (it will turn off automatically once it reaches the set pressure).

Auto-Off Functionality

Another thoughtful design feature that they’ve included is for the pump to automatically turn off once it hits the right PSI level. This lets you relax and not have to hover over the pump as it does it’s thing because you know that it will turn off on its own.

This is something that most electric pumps have these days but it’s worth considering as part of your purchase decision.

Usability and Sound

The NIXY Ventus iSUP electric pump is easy and intuitive to use (you won’t really need any instructions to work it). After plugging it in, just choose your desired inflation pressure using the + and – buttons, connect the hose to your paddleboard, and press the power button.

The Ventus pump starts by quickly inflating your board at a low pressure until it reaches 1 PSI. Then, it switches to a slower, high-pressure mode to inflate your board to the pressure you set (up to 20 PSI). Once it reaches that pressure, it stops automatically to avoid over-inflation.

When it switches to the high-pressure mode, the pump gets much louder, just like other electric SUP pumps. The noise during this stage is about 82 dB, which is pretty typical for these kinds of pumps.

Inflation Speed

We tested the speed of inflation using the NIXY Newport 10’6″ paddle board because it is a medium sized SUP that will give an accurate representation of the speed. Using the NIXY Ventus iSUP electric pump, the average inflation time to reach 15 PSI was 10 minutes 35 seconds. While not the fastest pump that I have ever seen, it is quite a bit faster than average.

A really nice feature that NIXY has included is the Active Cooling Tech that is designed to prevent overheating and also lets you inflate multiple paddle boards in a row without worrying about overheating. This is also extremely helpful if you are operating your pump in hot climates.

Deflation

Another practical feature that is included is the ability to deflate your paddle board. The NIXY Ventus does this really well. All you need to do is connect the pipe to the deflate section of the pump, turn it on and then it will deflate it.

It functions in a similar way to vacuum packing something and this makes it MUCH easier to roll up and store in the bag. This is something that I really liked using and it contributes to the overall appeal of this pump.

Battery

NIXY does not currently include a battery with the Ventus pump so you will need to use your car to power it. You can get the Ventus Battery Pack from the store to power your pump externally

Warranty & Customer Support

NIXY Sports gives you a 1 year warranty on your pump and also a 30-day return period. If you lose or break any parts, you can buy replacement hoses and adapters separately. In my experience they have been extremely helpful and easy to get in contact with.
