Overall Thoughts:

Our Rating

This is a cheap inflatable paddle board that comes from a relatively well-known fitness company called Goplus. My experience with it can be summed up in one word – ‘Solid’. It’s not exceptional, but it’s really not bad at all either. It is pretty stable and easy to use, has storage space, lots of room and a decent set of accessories that comes with it. The only real negative I found was that the pump wasn’t great, but for a cheap stand up paddle board this isn’t really surprising. The biggest win is that this is very HIGH VALUE because it comes at an amazing price with all the accessories.

PROSCONS
– Crazy lightweight. It’s really easy to hold and carry.

– Large EVA deckpad that lets you move around the board as much as you want.

– Decent tracking on the water, while staying stable and easy to use because of the 6.5″ thickness.

– Great value for what you get.

– Very portable and easy to transport.
– I found the accessories pretty average – they served their purpose but was nothing to write home about.

– I wasn’t a big fan of the pump, it doesn’t really pump very much.

Best for beginners that want a lot of accessories

Overall Thoughts:

Our Rating

This cheap paddle board is just that…a cheap paddle board. It felt like iTAOSTAR is trying to overwhelm you into buying the sup because of all the accessories. Now – they do a good job in some places, like I love all the quirky designs, they DO have some nice accessories and they are good quality. The board was okay but not super special and that’s where I think the focus should be. This isn’t a purchase you would regret, but I think if they cut out some of the accessories and invested a bit more effort into the board then it’d be amazing. If you’re looking for a decent board with all the frills then this is good for you.

PROSCONS
– I love the quirky design. It stands out on the water and looks really good at the same time.

– Really nice set of accessories. They went all out with them and give you a LOT.

– Really nice price for all of this.

– I like that they went with a more pointed nose for the board so that it works well in the sea.

– Lots of different designs
– Some of the accessories were kinda pointless (like the flag)

– The paddle was heavy and hard to grip when wet.

– The board was okay (a bit wobbly and the tracking felt strange)

Overall Thoughts:

Our Rating

These cheap paddle boards are a dream-come-true for when you’re learning because it’s really wide and stable. But the downside of this is that it is something that you could grow out of quite quickly if you have the ambition to improve. It’s big and wide so that makes it a bit ‘tanky’ in the water. If you want something solid that makes it really easy to learn to SUP, then this is a good bet for you.

– Good quality

Overall Thoughts:

Our Rating

The FunWater paddle boards have always been fun for me. If I had to explain it – this is a board that is better than it thinks it is. Let’s be real, it’s cheap! But it’s also quality so that’s tough. This is a great buy for anyone, and the only downsides are that it’s a little less stable (which give it its speed), and the pump wasn’t great. Otherwise this is a cheap blow up paddle board that you can grow into an intermediate rider with… and have a lot of fun while doing it.

PROSCONS
– Really easy to use and fun on the water. It had some nice acceleration and even handled quite choppy conditions like a champ.

– Good quality and will last for a long time.

– Nice price for the board and all the accessories.

– Really easy to transport and store away with the big bag that they provided.

– The pump wasn’t great so consider getting an electric pump.

Which Cheap Inflatable Paddle Board Should You Choose?

Deciding which cheap paddle board to pick comes down to what matters most to you. Here’s a quick guide:

  • For beginners who want quality on a budget: iROCKER Nautical GO Ten-Six is top of the list. It’s solid, stable, and made by a well-known brand. You don’t get a paddle or pump with it, but it’s still a great board for its price. This in my opinion is the best of the cheap paddle boards.

  • For a good deal with everything included: Goplus 10′ Cruiser has you covered. It’s easy to carry around, stable in the water, and comes with all the gear you need. It’s a solid choice if you don’t want to buy extra stuff.

  • If you like cool extras and unique designs: Go for the iTAOSTAR Fish. It’s not just about how it performs in the water; it’s also about the look and the bunch of accessories it comes with. Perfect if you want a board that stands out.

  • For newbies focused on not falling off: Advenor Extra Wide SUP is super stable and forgiving, making it great for learning. It’s a bit bulky, but if you’re all about staying upright, this is the one.

  • For someone that wants to improve fast, and have the board allow them to – then choose the FunWater paddle board. This is probably my second favorite cheap paddle board and you won’t be upset with it.

In short, pick iROCKER for quality and simplicity, Goplus for a great all-in-one package, iTAOSTAR if you love accessories and a cool look, Advenor if you’re starting out and want the easiest board to balance on, and FunWater if you want to get better.

Are Cheap Paddle Boards Worth It?

Yes, cheap paddle boards can be worth it, especially if you’re new to the sport or on a tight budget. Here’s why:

  1. Cost-Effective Entry Point: They offer an affordable way to try paddle boarding without the hefty investment upfront. This is great for beginners or those unsure if they’ll commit to the sport long-term.
  2. Decent Quality and Features: Many affordable options come with features and quality that are good enough for casual use and beginners. The technology and materials in paddle board manufacturing have improved, making even lower-priced boards decently durable and functional.
  3. Includes Necessary Accessories: Some budget-friendly models come as part of a package, including essentials like a paddle, pump, and carrying bag, which can be cost-effective compared to buying everything separately(1).
  4. Versatility: Many cheaper paddle boards are designed for all-around use, making them suitable for flat water, small waves, yoga, and fishing. This versatility means you get to try different aspects of the sport without needing multiple boards.

However, it’s important to have realistic expectations about performance and longevity. Cheaper boards might not have the same durability, performance in the water, or high-end features as more expensive models. They might be heavier, less rigid when inflated, or have fewer customization options.

For occasional use, beginners, or those exploring their interest in paddle boarding, cheap paddle boards can definitely be worth it. Just make sure to read reviews, check warranties, and consider how and where you plan to use the board to ensure you get the best value for your money.

Important Tips for Buying and Enjoying the Best Cheap SUPs:

When picking out a cheaper or beginner SUP (stand-up paddleboard), there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind to really get the most out of it. Whether you choose one from our list or find your own deal, remember these tips:

Accessories Matter:Even with a less expensive board, having the right accessories can really make a difference. Look for kits that have a good hand pump, a lightweight paddle, and a solid backpack for carrying it all. Wheels on the backpack? Even better.
Give It Time:Learning to paddleboard can be tricky at first. Go for a SUP that’s wide enough (around 30”-34”) to help you stay balanced as you’re starting out. Your board will seem to perform better as you get better at using it, so don’t rush to judge it.
Watch the Weather: The wind can really affect your paddleboarding, more than beginners might think. A slight breeze on land can feel much stronger on the water. Generally, try to avoid winds over 10mph. Remember, inflatable and lighter boards catch the wind more than heavier ones.
Safety Gear is KeyAlways use the leash that comes with your SUP, so your board doesn’t float away if you fall off. And always bring a Personal Flotation Device (PFD), even in shallow or calm waters. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Falling is Part of the FunYou’re going to fall in the water, and that’s totally okay! It’s all part of the paddleboarding experience. Cheaper boards make it easier for more people to get into the sport, which means more fun and splashes for everyone.

Keeping these tips in mind will help you enjoy paddleboarding, even if you’re just starting out or sticking to a budget.
